Neues Museum: before and after



Neues Museum (New Museum), Berlin
Originally designed by Friedrich August Stüler, completed in 1855.
Closed at the beginning of WWII, and heavily damaged in bombing of Berlin.
Reconstruction design by David Chipperfield, completed in 2009.

I think this is one of the most successful examples of the sensitive integration of old and new that I have experienced.
